Accessibility Statement

This accessibility statement only applies to:

  • yourplan.royallondon.com

Other Royal London websites and subdomains have their own accessibility statements.

Our values

At Royal London, we’re firm believers that all users - regardless of disability, language level, age or other differences in personal circumstances - should be able to find what they're looking for on our website.

Efforts to support accessibility

We aim to make our websites accessible to the widest possible audience. This means, for example, that you should be able to:

  • change colours, contrast levels and fonts using your browser or device settings.
  • zoom in without most content becoming difficult to use.
  • navigate most areas of the website using a keyboard.
  • listen to most website content using screen reader software.
  • access content using a range of devices and screen sizes.
  • use skip links to move directly to the main content of a page.
  • access text alternatives for most images and non-text content.
  • understand links and controls without needing additional context.
  • access transcripts and captions for much of our video content.

How accessible this website is

We know some parts of this website are not fully accessible.

Navigation and page structure

Some pages do not use headings consistently. This may make it more difficult for people using screen readers or other assistive technologies to understand the structure of a page and navigate between sections.

Some tables and content structures are not marked up correctly, which may affect how information is presented to assistive technologies.

Keyboard navigation

Some areas of the website cannot be fully used with a keyboard alone.

This includes some menus, expandable sections, embedded tools and other interactive features. In some cases, keyboard focus may not move as expected or may be difficult to see.

Zooming, reflow and text spacing

Some content does not adapt correctly when:

  • pages are zoomed
  • text size is increased
  • text spacing is changed
  • the site is viewed on smaller screens

This may result in content, controls or navigation options becoming difficult to access.

Forms and data entry

Some forms do not provide enough guidance before information is entered.

Some form fields do not clearly identify errors, provide suggestions for correcting mistakes, or communicate changes properly to assistive technologies.

Users of screen readers may experience difficulties understanding which fields require attention.

Images, charts and visual information

Some images and graphics do not provide appropriate text alternatives.

Some charts, graphs and visual indicators rely on colour or visual presentation alone and do not provide equivalent information in a format accessible to assistive technologies.

Video and multimedia content

Some video content does not currently provide audio descriptions.

Some transcripts and captions may not contain all information that is conveyed visually within the video.

Third-party services and embedded content

Some parts of the website contain content, calculators, fund tools and other services supplied by third-party providers.

While we work with suppliers to improve accessibility, we do not always have direct control over these services. Some of this content does not fully meet accessibility standards and may present barriers to users of assistive technologies.

Downloadable documents

Some downloadable content may not be fully accessible.

Where possible, we are working to improve the accessibility of documents and provide accessible alternatives.

Reporting accessibility issues

We are committed to continually improving the accessibility of our website through our Accessibility Centre of Excellence (ACoE) which helps promote inclusivity and accessibility throughout Royal London.

If you experience a problem or come across something that doesn’t meet our accessibility standard, please email us at custserv@royallondon.com. When contacting us, it would be helpful to include:

  • the page or feature where the issue occurred
  • a description of the problem
  • any assistive technology, browser or device being used.

This information helps us investigate and understand the issue more effectively.
